2007 Department Recognition
1st Quarter - Surgical/Oncology
Surgical/Oncology was nominated and selected as our Department of 1st Quarter based on patient comments for the excellent care they provided (and continue to provide).
Patient comments:
- Perfect care and awesome precision of duty made me comfortable in a most vulnerable of times. Kudos!!!
- I’ve been in many, many hospitals with extensive medical problems. But these women by far, were the best care givers I’ve ever encountered. They were caring and dedicated, and showed such genuine concern to my needs and care. They were quick to answer my call light and so sweet and gentle in their care for me! Thank you for making my two week stay as pleasant as it could be. God Bless You All!

2nd Quarter - Emergency Department
ER was nominated and selected as our Department of 2nd Quarter based on patient comments for the excellent care they provided (and continually provide).
Patient Comments:
- I broke my leg and my neighbors insisted that I be taken to Gulf Coast for any orthopedic problems. I can not imagine any finer care anyplace else!
- The ER has really left an impression on me. I was visiting for spring break and found out that I was drugged. Everyone in this department that I came in contact with was so nice, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Thank you for treating me with respect and not like some college student that likes to party.
- We want to thank your ER department for taking care of our daughter and giving her the best care possible.
3rd Quarter - Operating Room
OR was nominated and selected as our Department of 3rd Quarter based on patient comments for the excellent care they provided (and continually provide).
Patient Comments:
- The OR Staff made me fell comfortable before my surgery and took the time to check in on me after my surgery.
- I had my first surgery at Gulf Coast Medical Center. I was extremely scared but the OR Staff explained, instructed, and educated me on my procedure. They were so professional that I felt comfortable and at ease being in their hands.
We thank our entire OR team for their continued dedication and hard work during the Orthopedic expansion.
4th Quarter - 3 North - Med/Surg
3 North - Med/Surg was proudly nominated and selected as our Department of 4th Quarter based on patient comments for the excellent care they receieved.
Patient Comments:
- Every nurse on 3 North that we came in contact with were very kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel very comfortable.
- There are several "True Angels" on 3 North.
