Gulf Coast Medical Center Launches Mobile Website
June 21, 2010
Panama City, FL - Gulf Coast Medical Center’s new mobile web application provides local emergency health information at your fingertips. The address for the application is http://m.gcmc-pc.com.
“More people are replacing their cell phones with smart phones,” explained the hospital’s emergency department director Sheila Bradt. “With the smart phone, users have access to the internet wherever they go and that means we can help people quickly who are experiencing a medical emergency.”
The mobile application provides quick links to information such as:
- The hospital’s average ER wait time
- Consult-A-Nurse
- Hospital directory
- Maps and directions
Bradt says, “The links on our mobile website provide valuable information that can help someone make an informed decision about what they need to do next in a medical emergency. However, if someone is experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, they should first call 9-1-1.”
The mobile website follows another resource the hospital introduced. For those who text message, the hospital’s average ER wait times are available by texting ER to 23000.
