October 11, 2011
Event to Benefit The Anchorage Children’s Home
Panama City, FL – “The Amazing Power of Transformation” is the theme for Gulf Coast Medical Center’s 2nd Annual Girls’ Night Out. The event will be held Tuesday, November 1 from 5:00 – 8:15 pm at the Panama City Marina Civic Center. More than 1,200 women attended last year’s inaugural event.
Gulf Coast Medical Center Chief Operations Officer Nancy Dodson says, “The response to our Spirit of Women partnership has surpassed our expectations. We are delighted more than 3,000 area women have joined our Spirit of Women program and have embraced our vision and philosophy of women’s health.”
Women’s health author and President of Spirit of Women Tanya Abreu is the keynote speaker of the event and will present “The Amazing Power of Transformation.” Abreu says, “I have the opportunity to meet women all across the country. While we may have different backgrounds, there are many parts of our lives that are uniquely female. My goal for the event is to help women look at transformation as something positive. While there are challenges in life, we can take those experiences and use them to become better people. When we become better people, we have more to offer those around us and those who depend on us.”
Karen Durden, Chair of Gulf Coast Medical Center’s women’s Health Community Advisory Board says, “Women have the unique ability to put others in their lives first. This year’s Girls’ Night Out event is an invitation to women to take the night out for themselves and join us for a time of encouragement, reflection, and appreciation of all the ways we can touch the lives of our family and friends.”
The event also features the Dillard’s Fashion Show. Models are area women whose lives have been transformed by a significant health event. The Dillard’s Holiday Gallery and other exhibitors will be on display prior to the event starting. The Anchorage Children’s Home will also hold a silent auction.
The event will be held Tuesday, November 1 at the Panama City Marina Civic Center. Doors open at 5 p.m.; the program starts at 6:15. The event is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit The Anchorage Children’s Home. Registration is requested; call 747-3600.
